Epinions A Big Improvement Over The Already Great Pokemon Red And Blue

by  swanton00, top reviewer in Games ,  Dec 20, 2002
Pros: A ton of new features, 100 new pokemon, many new moves, much replay value
Cons: A few minor flaws
The Bottom Line: Pokemon Gold is a great game for Pokemon fans and non Pokemon fans!
Review: The big Pokemon craze started back in 1998 here in America. It started with the television show, then the Red/Blue versions of the video game came out. Those two were hits. Everyone loved them, and after they beat them, they wanted other versions, or...

Epinions I Seem To Have Misplaced My Daughter?

by  KCfizzgig,  Oct 26, 2000
Pros: It's fun and challenging
Cons: can become addictive
Review: I purchased a Pokemon Gold game cartridge for my 9 year old daughter, and haven’t seen her since. I now think she and her Game Boy have become fused together. But one night, while she was sleeping I did manage to pry it out of her grasp and try it out...

Epinions Pokemon Gold: The newest Pokemon game takes the Gold!

by  Slusy, lead in Games ,  Oct 20, 2000
Pros: Everything Pokemon Red and Blue had, and more!
Cons: Eats up all your free time!
Review: I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm a Pokemon-junkie. I watch the show every day at 4 PM. I have a gigantic Bulbasaur that I won at the Jersey Shore sitting on my shelf. I lost weeks of my life to Pokemon Red. So, needless to say, when I...

Epinions Addictive

by  jschmalzried,  Oct 25, 2000
Pros: It is fun, in color, new features, new Pokemon
Cons: Maybe to addictive, can't transfer old Pokemon with new moves to the older games!
Review: This game is simply addictive. I thought Pokemon Yellow was addictive but Lord all mighty this game is even more addictive.

The point of this game is just like the other 3, catch all the kinds of Pokemon and defeat all the gym leaders to...

by  Andrew_Lim,  Oct 23, 2000
Pros: Fantastic graphics and sound, faster gameplay
Cons: Might cost you a bomb

Epinions I'm A Pokemon Convert!

by  KristenA,  Oct 24, 2000
Pros: Hours and hours of game play, great graphics
Cons: Can't catch all Pokemon in a single version of the game
Review: I admit I used to hate Pokemon and the whole Pokemon craze. I didn't see any value or purpose in these funny little creatures all over the stores.

But then I played two Gameboy games: Azure Dreams and Dragon Warrior Monsters. I enjoyed both of...

Epinions Pokemon... heh heh heh wow

by  mascot1063,  May 25, 2001
Pros: 251 pokemon!
Cons: you can only get some their package (some can only be found in the originals)
The Bottom Line: Even if you aren't a Pokemon fan, give this game a try. I'm not a Pokemon fan, but I love this game to death!
Review: Oh my goodness! A Pokemon game that is good? Well, yeah! Even for older gamers like myself! First of all let's get the worst over with. The music get irritating at times, but it'd not like your ears are gonna explode or anything. So don't worry about...

Epinions Amazing!

by  Mortal,  Oct 22, 2000
Pros: Large world, 100 new pokemon to catch, involved storyline, greatly improved graphics, many nice features, real-time game clock, and more
Cons: Can get repetitive
Review: Pokemon Gold and Silver are the long awaited sequels to one of the most successful Game Boy games of all time. While the gameplay itself hasn't changed a lot from the original, the game improved so much that it's a must own for any Pokemon fan.

Epinions The Best of the Best Techniques

by  Wavelength,  Oct 29, 2000
Pros: An excellent game with good graphics and sound, much effort, many features, and all of the strengths of pokemon Red, Yellow, and Blue.
Cons: The "Scavenger Hunt" effect can sometimes be bad, and some parts are confusing. Sligtly linear plot.
Review: In the world of Pokemon Gold (and Silver), there are a whopping 250 Pokemon techniques (attacks), each different, and all good for different uses. unfortuantely, any given pokemon can only know 4 techniques at any given time. Therefore, it is...

Epinions Great games - hands down, buy it!

by  freedexter,  Dec 29, 2000
Pros: A wonderfully challenging and long game packed with fun and more features.
Cons: A long game, not for most kids under 8 or 9
Review: Okay, I admit it. I like Pokemon. Not because it's the flavor of the day, not because there's some cute yellow rodent shouting "Pika Pika", but because it was based on a great, great game.

The idea is simple, travel around the...
